How to Change Your Font Color

3 min read · Updated

Colours are free on every plan. Changing the page font needs Pro or above.

You can set the page font and every text colour on your page. There are two routes: one element at a time, or all of them together.

All your text colours in one place

  1. Log in, open My Pages and click the page you want to edit

  2. Click Customize, then Advanced

  3. Choose Colors for colours, or Text for the font and its colours

The Colors category groups everything on the page by what it affects:

Every colour on the page, one grid. The values shown are the Default theme.

Under Text you get two groups: Font, which sets the typeface for the whole page, and Colors, the same text colours surfaced next to it.

One element at a time

For your profile name and bio, the colour lives on the element itself.

  1. In the page editor, click your profile image to open Edit Profile

  2. Pick the Name or Bio tab

  3. Use the colour picker, or paste a hex code into the Color field

This is the quicker route when you only want to change one thing. The Colors category is better when you want the whole page consistent.

Keeping it readable

  • Check contrast against your background. Light text on a pale photo is the most common way a page becomes unreadable.

  • Paste hex codes for brand colours. The picker is fine for rough choices, but a hex code gets your exact brand colour.

  • Set the background first. Then adjust text to suit it, rather than the other way round.

Common questions

I changed a colour and the theme stopped matching.

Individual colours override the theme. Re-apply the theme to reset everything, then change only what you need.

Can I use a different font per block?

No. The font under Text applies to the whole page. Sizes and alignment can vary per element.

Why can I see the controls but not save?

Colours are free on every plan, so if a colour will not save, something else is going on. The page font is the one thing on this screen that needs Pro. On a free plan you can preview a different font, but saving it is blocked. Picking a theme that ships with its own font is still free.

Do changes apply instantly?

They show in the editor preview straight away. Save to put them on your live page.

📢 Tip: Pick two text colours at most, one for headings and one for body. Pages that use a different colour for every element read as cluttered rather than designed.
