Update Your Email & Notification Settings
2 min read · Updated
Your email address is how we reach you about your account, and it is where password resets go. Your notification settings control whether those updates also arrive by text.
Change your email address
Log in and click Account in the sidebar
Select Personal Info, then Email
Enter the new address and save
Open the verification email we send and follow the link
Until you verify, account email still goes to your previous address. Password resets go to whichever address is current, so verify before you need one.
Notification settings
Go to Account › Notifications. There are two switches.
That is the part people most often get wrong: turning SMS on does not subscribe you to extra alerts. It sends the same updates to your phone as well.
SMS needs a phone number on your account. Add or change it under Account › Personal Info › Phone.
Common questions
Will turning everything off stop all email?
No. Messages you need for your account, such as password resets and billing, are still sent. The switches cover update emails, not essential ones.
The verification email has not arrived.
Check your spam folder first. If it is not there, confirm the address you entered is spelled correctly, then try saving it again to resend.
Can I use a different email for billing?
Billing receipts come from Stripe and go to the address on your Stripe account, which you can change through Manage Billing.
I changed my email and cannot log in.
Try your previous address. If the new one was never verified, it may not have taken effect. Support can confirm which address is on the account.
📢 Tip: Use an address you will keep. Your email is the recovery route for your account, so an old work or school address is a bad choice.
