How to Deactivate or Delete Your Account

2 min read · Updated

If you want to step away from hoo.be, you have two options. One is reversible and takes a minute. The other is permanent and goes through support.

Take your page down without deleting anything

For most people this is the right option. Unpublishing hides your page from the public while your account, links, analytics and settings stay exactly as they are.

  1. Log in and open My Pages

  2. Open the page that is live

  3. Unpublish it

Anyone visiting your hoo.be address no longer sees your page. You can publish it again whenever you want, and nothing is lost in the meantime.

Worth trying first. Unpublishing covers almost every reason people ask to delete: taking a break, rebuilding the page, or stepping back from posting. It is reversible, deletion is not.

Delete your account permanently

Account deletion is handled by our support team rather than a button in your settings. Contact support and include:

  • The email address on your hoo.be account

  • A clear confirmation that you want the account permanently deleted

We confirm the request is coming from the account owner before anything is removed.

What deletion does

  • Your sign-in is removed. You will not be able to log in again, and the account cannot be reopened.

  • Your handle is released. It goes back into the pool and someone else can take it.

  • Any active subscription is cancelled as part of the process.

  • Your pages, links and analytics go. They cannot be restored afterwards.

Before you ask for deletion

  • Update your social bios and anywhere else your hoo.be link appears, or those links will lead nowhere

  • Save anything you want to keep, such as collected contacts or analytics figures

  • If you have an available balance, request your payout and let it complete first

Common questions

Can I delete my account myself?

Not today. It goes through support so we can confirm the request and handle your subscription and payouts properly.

Is unpublishing the same as deleting?

No. Unpublishing only hides your page. Your account and everything in it stays, and you can undo it at any time.

What happens to my subscription?

It is cancelled as part of deletion. If you only want to stop paying, cancel your plan instead and keep the account.

Can I get my handle back after deleting?

No. It is released when the account is deleted and anyone can claim it.

How long does it take?

We process requests once we have confirmed them with you. Support will tell you when it is done.

📢 Tip: If you are unsure, unpublish rather than delete. You can always ask for deletion later, but nothing comes back once it is gone.
