Prime Day is the one window where your audience is already in a buying mood. The gap between a follower tapping your Story and actually checking out is where most of those sales die, and for Amazon that gap is almost always the same thing: the in-app browser.
A hoo.be direct link closes it. Here is what it is, why it matters more on Amazon than anywhere else, and how to set one up before the deals go live.
The problem with pasting an Amazon link into a Story
When someone taps a link inside Instagram or TikTok, it opens in that app's own built-in browser rather than Safari or Chrome. That browser is always signed out of Amazon. Your follower lands on your storefront as a logged-out visitor, with no saved address, no saved card, and no Prime badge on the delivery estimate.
If they try to add to cart from there, Amazon bounces them to a sign-in screen. Most people do not sign in to Amazon on a phone keyboard in the middle of scrolling. They close the tab.
What a direct link does on Amazon
Every link you add to hoo.be already has a direct link: a short URL in the form hoo.be/yourhandle/your-slug that goes straight to that link's destination without loading your page.
When the destination is an amazon.com page and someone opens it from a phone, hoo.be hands the link to the Amazon Shopping app instead of the in-app browser. Three things come with that:
They are already signed in. Saved addresses, saved cards, Prime delivery. No sign-in wall between your Story and their cart.
The whole URL travels with them. Path and query both, so a product link opens that product, a list opens that list, and a storefront opens your storefront.
Your Associates tag rides along. The tag is part of the URL, so it carries into the app and the purchase is still attributed to you.
If the app is not installed, the link falls back to the phone's normal browser, which is still signed in far more often than an in-app browser is.
Set one up for Prime Day
Build the Amazon page you want traffic on first, whether that is an idea list of your Prime Day picks or your full storefront. Then give it a slug worth saying out loud.
Log in and open My Links
Add your Amazon collection as a link, or open the one you already have
In the Direct Link field, replace the auto-generated ending with something memorable like prime-day
Click Save, then share hoo.be/yourhandle/prime-day everywhere you are posting
Share that one URL in your bio, your Story stickers, your DMs and your video captions. It is short enough to read out in a video, and because it is yours you can repoint it at a different collection partway through the event without reposting anything.
Two things that quietly cost you sales
Amazon shortlinks do not get the app. If you share an amzn.to or a.co link, hoo.be cannot hand it to the Amazon app, because the app only opens real amazon.com pages. Those links still escape the in-app browser, but you lose the signed-in app experience. Use the full amazon.com URL as your destination and let the direct link do the shortening.
Changing a slug breaks the old one. There is no forwarding from a retired slug, so pick the name before you start posting. If prime-day is already live in a Story, leave it alone.
Point your whole page at one thing
If Prime Day is the only thing you want traffic on for a few days, a redirect link sends every visitor to your hoo.be URL straight through to one destination. Your page is hidden while it is on, so this suits a short window rather than a permanent setup.
Set it under Account › Profile Settings › Redirect Link, and give it a start and end date so it switches itself off when the deals do. Redirect links are available on Pro and Premium.
See which one worked
Open the link in your analytics and the clicks are split three ways. Page Clicks are taps on your page, Direct Clicks are opens of the direct link, and Page Redirects are visitors sent on by a redirect link.
Give each campaign its own slug and the split tells you which post actually sold. A Story link and a video caption link can point at the same Amazon collection through two different direct links, and you will see which one your audience used.
Before the deals start
Build your Prime Day collection on Amazon and add it to hoo.be as a link
Set a short, sayable direct link slug and stop changing it
Use full amazon.com URLs rather than amzn.to shortlinks
Check your Associates tag is on the destination URL
Decide whether a scheduled redirect link is worth it for your peak days
Prime Day traffic arrives in a few short bursts. The creators who convert it are the ones whose followers never see a sign-in screen.
